Rules & Regulations

Our house rules are designed to create a safe, peaceful, and recovery-focused community. Every resident agrees to these rules upon move-in.

These rules apply to all residents at all TRJ Sober Living Homes & Caring Homes locations. Compliance is required as a condition of residency.

General House Rules

No alcohol, illegal drugs, or unauthorized substances on the premises at any time.
No smoking inside the house. Designated outdoor smoking areas only.
No weapons of any kind are permitted on the property.
No gambling on the premises.
No pornographic materials in shared spaces.
Residents must comply with all local, state, and federal laws.

Wake-up time is 7:00 AM on weekdays. Residents must be out of bed and ready for the day.
Bedrooms must be cleaned and beds made daily before leaving the room.
No eating in bedrooms. All meals are to be eaten in the kitchen or dining area.
Personal hygiene must be maintained. Residents are expected to shower and dress appropriately daily.
Laundry must be completed in a timely manner and not left in machines.
Residents must sign in and out when leaving and returning to the house.

Clean up after yourself immediately after cooking or eating.
Label all personal food items stored in the refrigerator.
Do not eat or use another resident's food without permission.
Kitchen closes at 10:00 PM. No cooking after hours.
Common areas must be kept tidy. Return furniture and items to their original positions.
Television and music volume must be kept at a considerate level.

All residents must actively participate in a recovery program (AA, NA, or equivalent).
Proof of meeting attendance may be required (signed meeting slips).
Residents must attend all mandatory house meetings.
Residents are encouraged to obtain a sponsor within 30 days of move-in.
Residents must be working toward employment, education, or a structured daily program.
Positive, recovery-focused attitudes and conversations are expected in the home.

Cell phone use is permitted but must not disrupt other residents or house activities.
No use of personal electronics during house meetings or group activities.
Residents are responsible for the security of their own devices.
Inappropriate or illegal online activity is strictly prohibited.

First violation: verbal warning and documentation in resident file.
Second violation: written warning and possible loss of privileges.
Third violation: review meeting with management; possible discharge.
Certain violations (violence, drug use, theft) result in immediate discharge without warning.
Residents may appeal discharge decisions in writing within 48 hours.
